Researching animals and environments: Longleat Safari Park

Longleat Safari Park was an amazing day out. The animals were all lively, out and seemingly happy. We were able to get so close to these animals and see them acting naturally, their postures, walks, characteristics were all so evident and strong that many characters and ideas were born from the trip, from the Lion and his slaves/whores/employees of big cats, to the lead characters personality. There was so many animals to see and capture, to remember, that I came back with so many photographs. There was a silverback gorilla, the oldest in captivity, Niko, who has his own island as his partner died and he refuses to let anyone taker her place, and so lives in solitary. These kind of incredible character traits make for rich, deep personalities. Another good example of funnier character ideas is the cheeky monkey, whom jumped on my mothers car, pulled parts off, chewed it, and pooped in its place before leaving. This is also photographed below.
