Sound

By Callum Brown

The soundtrack for our group has been written by and outside source. However we still needed to record the voice over and background sounds, like the sniffing, the footsteps, the pops, and whooshes and so forth. We did all of this ourselves, using my Mac to record the sound with my directional microphone plugged in, this picked up the sound from a direction the same way a boom mic does. We spent a good few hours looking stupid as we vigorously sniffed the microphone, and tapping the floor. However this technique did pay off, and sounds great. My only regret is that we didn't have enough time to record all of this in the Sound booth. I then had the job of syncing the noises to the screen recording of the film, and applying it to the live unity environment.
